Help Us Build in West Tisbury
Our Next Project:
Bailey Park Road Community Housing (located off Great Plains Road off Old County Road in West Tisbury). This Habitat Build consists of three homes; the first house was donated by the MV Savings Bank and will be moved from 490 State Road to Bailey Park Road, set on a foundation and renovated into a three bedroom home based on plans and specifications provided by Matt Coffey & Sasha Robinson - White. The second and third builds will be new two bedroom and three bedroom homes based on donated Plans and Specifications used at Eliakim's Way at 250 State Road provided by South Mountain Company. All three homes will be built to Top Performance Energy Star ratings and utilize Habitat's traditional Green construction practices. These three builds are made possible by the town of West Tisbury through its Affordable Housing Committee. Each build will be completed sequentially and take about 12 months each to complete We are planning to start construction on the first home this fall!
Volunteer Build Days:
When our next project begins, our Build Days will be each Friday and Saturday from 10am - 4pm. Please call the Habitat office for more information 508-696-4646.
Whether you are skilled carpenter, or have never picked up a hammer, we encourage you to come lend a hand. Come out and work for a day or build with us every week until it's done! Consider volunteering with an organization that you belong to; group Build Days are a great way to bring your co-workers, teammates or church groups closer together. The experience of working together to build a home for a family in need is one that will last a lifetime.
